THE PGA PROFESSIONAL … WAYNE BASFORDWayne started playing golf in 1993 at the tender age of 8 years old with his grandparents. Having been bitten by the “golf bug”, Wayne and his Dad joined Trethorne and then Launceston Golf Club.
Wayne went on to represent launceston at all levels, from Junior Captain to representing the Club “A” Team in the CTC aged just 15. Wayne also represented Cornwall under 18′s. He turned Professional in 2003 at the age of 18, and joined Dominic Rehaag at Tavistock Golf Club as Assistant PGA Professional, where he stayed for seven years.
As a Professional, Wayne has played many events in the West Region. He won his first event in the Devon PGA Alliance at Wrangaton in 2004 and more recently the Tavistock PGA Pro Am in August 2009.
Throughout his coaching career, Wayne has taught hundreds of golfers of all ages and abilities. He was in charge of the Junior Academy at Tavistock for five years, helping to increase the profile of this section considerably.
Wayne has a real passion for teaching and tailors his coaching to the specific needs of the individual.

Wayne teaches using the simplest and most modern methods available. These methods are endorsed by many top coaches along with several of the world’s leading touring professionals.
Having been a PGA Professional for four years, Wayne is able to offer a comprehensive range of coaching, catering for the complete beginner to the more experienced and most advanced low handicap players.
The practice facilities are excellent. There is an 8-bay undercover driving range, a grass teeing area, chipping area, practice putting green and an extra large private tuition bay attached directly to the Pro Shop.
