The Trethorne Ladies Section has doubled in its numbers over past two years or so, and is a friendly, fun and relaxed group to be part of. The section has its own brand and identity and it is one of Trethorne's key objectives to continue to grow and develop the Ladies Club.
The Ladies meet on a regular basis for both competitions and matches, and also for more informal events such as the monthly Ladies Coffee Morning, which takes place on the second Wednesday of every month.
If you are new to the game or simply looking for a fresh start, the Ladies Club at Trethorne is the ideal place to pick up your clubs and a great way to meet new friends.
Mrs Julie Brooks
"Golf! Why would I want to play golf!? This was my reaction when my husband, Martin, suggested that we take up golf together. After continual nagging, on his part, I gave in and gave it a go. That was July 2008 and I have not looked back since.
Golf is like a drug and it gets into your system, totally addictive and you cannot imagine life without it! That's the way it is for me. It has become my passion in life and every minute out on the golf course, good or bad, is treasured and enjoyed.
I feel extremely honoured to have been asked to be Lady Captain for 2012 and hope that I can live up to what is expected of me. I am sure that with my enthusiasm and the support of the Ladies Section this will be achieved.
I will endeavour to encourage all lady members to take part in club competitions and events and give them all 100% of my support and maybe some of my passion will rub off! We have a good Ladies Section and I feel that we are lucky to have the course that we have and to be part of a club that we are. Let's make the most of it!
My chosen charity, along with my husband Martin who is Club Captain for 2012, is the Cornwall Air Ambulance, a very worthy cause I am sure you will agree.
I look forward to seeing as many ladies as possible this year and hope to make golf in 2012 an enjoyable part of everyone's life."
